Do you like color in quilts? Wanda at Exuberant color http://exuberantcolor.blogspot.com/ knows how to use color to its full potential. I drool over the gorgeous quilts she seems to "whip up" so effortlessly.
see for yourself............

Do you like to play?

Do you like to play with fabrics? I do and 15 minutes  play  http://www.15minutesplay.com/  stretches your creative mind in directions that you are not sure of but you will have fun, learn in the process and usually LOVE the outcome. Check it out!

Long short work week

Is it ME? or does anyone else feel like the short 4 day work weeks seem long............Maybe it's because over the long weekend I didn't get to play with my sewing machine. but who could resist going outside in the gorgeous weather?
got the garden hoed,
helped sis wash the camper (a job in itself)
and just relaxed a little in the sun. Sunshine is good for the soul..........

it is month end time....for all of you who work in accounting you know what I mean..........ggrrrrrrrrrrrr....... LOL didn't we just have a month end yesterday? seems like it...........

hopefully will have something quilty to show you in a few.......gotta get to work!
Enjoy the "short-long week"

Does anyone else do this

Do any of you jot down all the finishes you do? I record them in a journal so that when I feel like I have not accomplished anything I can look back and know that I have. I need to go one step further and take some pictures! then I can blog my finishes........ great idea!

My problem is..........jack of all trades.master of none LOL  sewing, quilting, gardening, painting, crocheting,knitting..........and the list goes on and on.......and with working........not much time to participate in many..unless I dont sleep! LOL   hmmmmm, maybe I could forgo eating a few times and multitask to lose a few pounds.............LOL  the quilting diet! I like it..... Dresdans for breakfast, scraps for lunch, and just eat a normal dinner.  The "diet book" would have beautiful pics don't cha think? (of the quilts silly, not me)

Happy Memorial Day

Memorial Day
parties, gatherings, grilled food.............
but the reason for the holiday
THOSE WHO SERVED TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS.............
I salute you.......... and thank you for all you have done........
Hope everyone remembers those who sacrificed .......

Have a great weekend!

Hey Mom. You think I can make a float out of this box? I want to be in the parade!

a flimsy for a baby boy

When you clean up your sewing room and find a strip of this, a strip of that...........

this is what you could end up with. I have no idea what my plans were for the sheep borders. Probably cut them off to use the rest of whatever fabric they were attached to.

I just pieced the strips and now have to trim, quilt and bind. It will be nice to have a baby quilt at the ready for the next baby shower. It seems like there have been a ton of babies born lately. A lot of girls too so I will have to see if I can find some "purty" fabric and make a quick girl quilt.

working hard to get back into job hunting mode. My position will be eliminated due to an acquisition.Job hunting now is very tedious. you really need to be everywhere with eyes and ears all over to capture all possibilities. Hopefully I can still sew to "calm the nerves".

here's hoping to some sewing this long weekend. I need some time with my machine friend. <3
Will probably grill outside, see the grandkids, watch a parade, weed the garden and SEW?????

what are you up to this Memorial Day weekend?

Eeney Meeney Miney Moe............

I think I will just sleep here on the rug till Mommy finishes my quilt................

psst...............hate to tell you Dunkin but she is making MY quilt first. I am number one around here. The sooner you realize that the better off we will all be.....................

The next one is MINE............................

Here I live in a nice small town and where is my bed? a cardboard box. I know times are tough but I need a nice cushy quilt for those sunny days to lounge on. And I will also use it in the winter to snuggle with. I PROMISE Mom! Make mine first!

dresdans dresdans everywhere

This is a pic of an old UFO but since I have seen all the dresdans on different blogs it has given me the desire to finish it. I will handquilt it as it is a laptop size and it may end up being a gift.
This was my take on a "modern" twist to an old fashioned pattern.sorry for the waviness. no good places yet scoped out for photo shoots.

these are dresdan plates made from scraps too small to do much with. I tried to have an old field to them but kind of planned with blues and pinks. blue being my favorite color. some of these fabrics bring back memories............... ignore ugly background ironing board cover please.

and yet another group. what do you think about the blue for the center?????? or should I go with another color........

so many dresdans.....so many fabrics..........so many choices......

let me know what you think!
