making friends

I have no pictures for this short story but it will explain why I have no sewing done.

As many of you know, in July we bought our first home, a mobile home. then in Aug I was laid off from work.

We had some money put aside to make some changes so we painted etc. When we were trying to fix the kitchen cabinets, we found plumbing issues under the sink. When they fixed that they found plumbing issues under the mobile. so we bit the bullet and had them replace ALL the old copper piping under there with this new stuff called Pex. so far, so good..........

UNTIL the plumber shuts the water off to do it. The valve came off in his hand leaving a huge water fountain. I call the park office to have the water shut off so we can continue. for half hour they cant find the shutoff so they shutoff the water to the WHOLE PARK. only about 300 homes  (the valves are 40 yrs old)

NOW on a THURS at 10 am I HAVE EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE PARK DRIVING AROUND TO SEE THE RED TRUCK TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON! If they didn't know who I was, they SURE do NOW!  How to win friends, right? (Oh, you were taking a shower? sorry-)

luckily the water was off for half hour and the problem was solved..........

THEN THE PLUMBER SAYS TO ME, DO YOU SEE THE SEWER PIPE UNDER THERE ON THE GROUND? IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SUSPENDED SO IT IS HIGHER THAN THE AREA WHERE IT GOES INTO THE SEWER............

GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR............................

We are waiting to see the "damage" of the bill for this last bit of fun.........then will assess if we need to do this too..............YIKES............. and I am afraid..........THAT  could make a BIGGER mess........water is one thing..........

On Thursday it was NOT funny!  it is getting a little better each time we tell the story to see the humor in it. You gotta laugh to keep from crying some days............

this will be a funny story I am thinking in years to come........... do things like this only happen to me?
