owning our own home has us reflecting more on things
"smelling the roses" of life
it amazes me how nature works
she makes these beautiful roses........
out of this in just a few short months
(and a lot of weeding and feeding and fingernail biting....)
I have never had roses before and was nervous I would kill them
seems like a little coffee grounds and some banana peels make
them happy. who knew?
these gorgeous lillies are like my Mom saying Hi to us
back at ya Mom! Miss ya......love ya........
I didn't know back here if they were a weed or not
they are literally inside this sedum plant
this guy you cant kill. not that I wanted to.
but I literally one day chopped this down to little sticks
my neighbor was nervous.
she said one day I looked out and the bush was gone!
but she came back........and so did the butterflies and bees...
more bees than butterflies but hey I am trying to do my part
On Aug 12th (my mom's birthday) we moved into our new home.
It will be a year
and quite the year it has been
for those of you who follow my blog, you know we had plumbing issues right away
and had to replace pipes front to back
and it seemed like it would never end
but we survived and got through
and made improvements
and as time goes on we will continue to take one project at a time
and make improvements
but we love our Home sweet home!
so Happy One Year in our Home Anniversary to me and hubs
and Happy birthday Mom
my brother Chuck and Alicia
Yeah, my Mom was born on Aug 12
as was my oldest brother
and his daughter (the first grandchild who was born after my Mom passed)
was also born on that day
three generations with the same birthday
how fitting that we moved in on that day too!
a special day indeed!
