relaxing robin start

ok, here is all I got done this weekend on the relaxing robin
I took some UFO blocks
(both dresdans and crumb blocks)
I sewed the 8 crumb blocks and this will be the size of my rows
first row done-
next is to add a border that has a color not in the blocks
that would be the background fabric which is kind of a putty gray color.
I cant describe it any other way

yep Mom. it looks like putty gray to me!
I will be "cheating" and using the dresdans as my applique row
I know, I am one of THOSE people who loves applique
I figure if I am not going to try a technique I certainly cant expect to master it right?
no quilt police here
sent them all to someone elses house LOL

and here is breakfast to help me get going
some banana bread and coffee
YUM
love the fall
and baking comfort foods
I am thinking of putting ,maybe a small black border between rows to set them off
it needs "something" don't cha think?
but I like this "free" way of quilting that makes this quilt all mine

how is YOUR relaxing robin coming along?
link up below so we can all see
don't be shy
