TaZ IS helping me

Taz is trying to help me
he is supervising  but I am not sure if I like this layout
or not
I think I am kind of partial to the one I saw

what do you think?
I think with more browns and muted colors I may
be able to get this look
not sure the size of their blocks but I will make mine
to fit me
I have always loved the vine and leaf pattern
and this will be a cool way to try it out
on a border

anyone ever make a quilt like this?
I started with a square
then added strips 2 sides
of each color
didnt matter what size
then a large one on the outside
so that I could square them up to the same size

It works up rather quickly if I remember right
I want to get these stray blocks in my room
into useful quilts
and then hopefully I can practice quilting them
on my Gracie
this one looks like a Baptist fan pattern would work

that is the plan anyway
we will see if it will work

  1. I've made these before and they not only work up fast but are great to use up all those strings and strips. Just throw in a yellow and red here and there (like the picture) to make them pop a little - or they get muddy. Just keep adding strips to you get your size (or larger and trim down).

  2. Oh I like that border, too--your colors are really nice...and scrappy, too hugs, Julierose

  3. Cool blocks. Love the vine and leaves, never done it before but then I am getting more adventuresome in my quilting.

  4. Love the brown version, it would use up a lot of scraps
