journal covers

Here are a few journal cover pieces I have cut. I want to kit them up for easy assembly line sewing someday.

I used up some of my made fabrics from dump quilting or minutes for me sewing. I think it adds character and a fun surprise to the cover. see the chicken and butterflies?

they will have these little legal pads inside with a spot for some pens or markers or colored pencils for a fun journal cover. You could use for meeting notes, for doodling to keep little ones occupied, for playing tic tac toe while waiting in a busy restaurant etc. just a little fun.
I am not sure where they will end up or how many I will make but if  you want to make some just google "airplane binders" for the pattern. these pieces are for the cover and lining and are 9x12. then you cut a pencil pocket and the pocket for the notepad and then the closure tab and binding. easy and fun. maybe they will go into the Christmas box for little extra tuck in gifts.
