procrastinate much?

warning: this post is picture HEAVY

these were started as fun mindless sewing.......
not sure how many I ended up with ......I want to say 8 or something
I love them
and need to make more and make a top

this is a purse in the works.I lost the pretty button in the move
so production on it stalled
gotta finish it up

this was supposed to be for a cancer quilt
but we moved and it never got finished
needs a back and quilting

this was a blue and yellow block of the month
gotta put them into a flimsy and get er done

noticing any pattern around here?
am I am Aries or what?  (great starter....not so great FINISHER LOL)
love these. they are all sewn by hand. was a lunch time project at a job many years ago
I was teaching a gal to quilt-she had no sewing machine-so we hand stitched
I think it would make a cool border on a scrappy quilt
they are 5 inch squares

just gotta straight-line quilt this one and bind

gotta find a back and quilt and bind- nice runner

an experiment with a paisley type print
gotta find it in the stash and finish this one up

baby colors dresdan
Did I say I LOVE dresdans?
I think I have 6 of these

this is just scrappy no thinking quilting and then cut into squares
the same size
have enough to make a flimsy for a nice lap

have FIVE of these.......yep I said it
was gonna be one for each of my nieces
just gotta quilt em up

a work still in progress
kind of a round robin type experiment

gotta find a turquoise backing and get this one quilted for ME

a winter hand quilt project. love me some dresdans

this was an eye spy
yeah, couldnt find the border which was an alphabet
kind of print
then she grew up and is now 11
has it been that long?
gotta get er done!

want this to be a quilted bathroom curtain
this is on the agenda for the Fall
then I can bring all those colors into the bathroom
I have the seagreen in there now
the red or wine-red I think I have a shower curtain too
orange would make a bright morning

duck duck GOOSE.........
gotta get the squares done and put em together into something
I think the problem here is some ducks face left
some face right
and I couldnt find a way to put them
in a quilt that would make sense
maybe they need to be something else?

and a bright beach bag. gotta find a lining fabric and get er sewn up

You think I have enough projects to keep me busy?

laundry day

with the dryer vent being fixed.....because the ac guy saw a problem.....
kind of like the knee bones connected to the thigh bone......
(now you are singing the song, arent you? LOL)
this is the sight around here.
laundry up the ying yang to fold
or is it?

wait! I dont have a fur jacket!
what is THIS in my nice clean laundry basket?
you think he is HELPING????????

lucky he is cute I tell you!
anyone want a kitty?  CHEAP LOL

I just look the other way Mom. what are you gonna do with that pain?

just another fun day at sewyouquilt2..........

winding down Yard sale projects

these kitties need to be done

two bags that I cut I will try and sew up
I need to  find matching zippers for them
maybe they will sell
if not, they will be made already for gifting..........

and the piggies. I need to handsew the slits for the money
then stitch all around the edge by machine
I dont want to spend too much time doing it
as I think we are selling them for .50 to .75
for the kids table
it just isnt worth putting all that time in for that price

then treasure rocks and we will be in great shape!
FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
wish me luck!

take that mosquitos

this is the mosquito geranium plant
that is how it was listed
I love the lemony smell of it
I put it in one of the pots near the steps

it seems to be helping
and they will be spraying for mosquitos this weekend
they are bad this year

ever have one of those days?

ever have one of those days?
when it seems like you have to "fight" for everything?

nothing turns out like it should...............

and the to do list doesnt always get done?

gonna be one of THOSE days!

this would be cute in a baby quilt

I am thinking of pulling colors to go with this little swatch
wouldn't it make a cute baby quilt?

I am envisioning all those churn dash in a churn dash quilts that I am seeing
all over the internet

where is that turquoise blue and brown fabric again?

can never have too many baby quilts........
maybe this is what I work on  this weekend
we will see......

my poor house has suffered with all the party planning and ac fixing going on
I may need to

nature is amazing

this little guy is hiding between the front bushes
I will have to mark it once done blooming
so I can put it somewhere so it can shine
so so pretty
Hi Mom!

and these! I am sure you are sick of seeing my roses.
I am just amazed
they are so gorgeous in real life
even hubs is bragging about them to others

and my red petunias are thriving too. I wish
they would spread a little more
but may need a little help from
some coffee grounds or banana peels
it sure is colorful around here!

yellow roses

more yellow roses on the side garden
whoot whoot!
about 4 tiny buds here
I think I will put the next round of coffee grounds and bananas here

Yeah, you do that Mom, I'll wait right here for you.
I feel sleepy...........
very sleepy..........

what do you do with panels

any good ideas for fabric panels? or preprinted fabrics such as these?

I have some pillow panel types
and some animals like Taz
I am thinking bags I guess.
any other ideas?
should I combine them

with crazy blocks?
or with UFO blocks?

or with some strippy sewing?

or with some squares?

should I center them in a quilt? make some bags?
stuff them into a toy?

what would YOU do with Taz and panels?

I like dresdans

this dresdan is waiting for some handquilting. I am thinking this lap quilt will be mine. I love
the way the bright colors make it modern looking

this runner is finished. and will be sold at our Fall Yard sale

it still didnt make that big of a dent in the stash
but I used up a little of this and a little of that

the blue dresdan in the center of my relaxing robin has brothers and sisters
that sit in my sewing room
I may make another relaxing robin after I finish this one off
I love it and now that I can breathe a little (no planning for the potluck etc)
maybe I can put the pedal to the metal and get er done!

what are you loving to work on these days?
summer is a hard time to quilt
after a long rough winter
there are so many activities and outside fun that calls my name

that is why hand quilting may be the ticket
to getting something done
while sipping lemonade in the shade
wont you join me?

pretty soon we will have salad girls!

this is the lettuce looking so good
I will have to thin them out a bit but wanted to wait
till they were a little bigger
then I could have a mini salad

and if this doesnt get red soon it may end up as
a fried green tomato!
poor little thing is afraid to turn red
if it does, it will probably meet its demise
to a little guy named chipmunk!

anyone know what this is?

If you guessed AC you are right.
This is what our son brought over for hubs on these
hot muggy days until our system got fixed

You remember that it was supposed to be fixed LAST week?
yeah, they had to order it

Thank God for wonderful sons!

Guess who called hubs yesterday and came in and put in the central air AC system?
I had to laugh. if we had nothing to cool off we would still be waiting right?

that old Murphy's law.........
Murphy is one heck of a pain is all I can say!
it is cool here again........

gotta return this one to my son.

I have two yellow roses

this is the yellow rose bush that looked almost dead. it is near the clematis on the side garden

the rose opened up and is looking good
at least it is greening up
I think it likes coffee!

and the one on the side has finished blooming.
I had just one bud on this one
it is mixed in under the pink ones
I almost couldnt find it
until it bloomed

wonder if yellow is harder to grow?
this one is on the other side of the house
in the row of roses
I am hoping it thrives and continues to grow and fill in
one never knows
