our first project microwave bowl potholder

this would be a great stocking stuffer for those kiddos who microwave their own oatmeal or snacks
to keep them from getting burned taking those out of the microwave

or for a nice bowl of say apple crisp for a neighbor with directions how to  heat it up before you put on the vanilla ice cream

or for a hubby to "fix his dinner" that you prepared so that you have a little more sewing time

so many possibilities

Project number one!
lets see how many we can make...................

picking the stash what color what color

do I go with some greens? a great "holiday" color

or my favorite blues?  who doesn't like blue?

or something else?
whatever fabrics I choose I will keep the recipient in mind

for the first project maybe I will make some of each
after all I only need two 10 inch squares
I don't have any of those cakes with precut squares
but that's ok. it won't take long to cut them.
it will take longer to choose the fabrics LOL

Ok Dunkin. You will NOT get on Santa's good list this way!
NO this is NOT YOUR bed it is MINE!
now get up and get something done!
scratch that!  sleep. I am safer that way.
when you are sleeping you are out of trouble LOL

tisket a tasket a green and yellow basket......

I have been a basket case here lately! LOL
helped make baskets for my sister in laws fundraiser and put
together the two for our yardsale
this one is the kids basket with bubbles and crayon rolls and all
sorts of things kids like

this one is a cupcake basket
with a cupcake theme
including cupcake tin
cupcake potholders and matching towels

for those of you who are mature enough, you will remember the song........
wrote a letter to my love and on the way I dropped it I dropped it...........
TAG, You're it! LOL

Fall inspiration

more Fall inspiration

I have an idea
let me see if anyone is "in"
what if for the next weeks leading up to Christmas
we do a small project a week
kind of like finishing up some gifts
to have on hand
Sept is almost here
I could post instructions
and we could all share our project
you would have a week to do it
before the next one would be posted

if we did 4 in Sept
4 in Oct
4 in Nov
that would make a total of twelve!
great for the twelve days of Christmas, or twelve
handy gifts
what do you think?
Am I crazy?
don't answer that!

I found this inspiration on the internet too.
I must get better at giving credit where I found it
Most times I can figure out things
without the pattern
or make my own spin on them using what I found
for inspiration

these look so cute and fun
and easy
solids are not plentiful in my stash
but I may have to take a look anyway

lets do the Mash
the Monster Mash
it was a graveyard smash
lets do the Monster Mash

anyone else remember the song?

Christmas time is a coming

arent these the cutest little thing?
I can picture them on the tree

and maybe a name embroidered on the flap?
how cute would that be?

and I love this too.
I really need to get off the computer and quit
finding new projects
I need to finish the ones I have
but I guess the inspiration gives me the incentive to
get going
so its all good...........

zucchini pineapple recipe

can be made into loaves, cupcakes or even bundt cake

3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup oil
2 cups shredded zucchini
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup nuts (optional)
1 teaspoon baking soda (yes both powder and soda in here)
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained

Beat eggs. add sugar, vanilla, oil till blended. then add zucchini, flour, baking powder and soda, and salt.
then stir in pinepple and nuts and raisins (we have also used marachino cherries around the holidays.
pretty red and green
you can also use just the pineapple which is how my hubs likes it
Bake in 2 loaf pans, or in muffin tins or in a bundt pan
depending on what shape you want and how many
Loaf pans take 1 hr at 350
muffins take less but are moist so test for doneness

I also shred my excess zucchini and place 2 cups in a freezer bag in the freezer ready to go
that way I can enjoy the bounty all winter!

more zuchinni

anyone ever drop off zuchinni at your house and run?

what do you do when you get lemons?
make lemonade

what do you do when you get zuchinni?
make zuchinni bread
and more zuchinni bread
llife is good.........
and full of zuchinni!

Fall bucket list

these are popping up everywhere
which reminds me
I want to go apple picking
I have never been in my life and think it would be fun

so whats on your Fall "bucket list"?

zuchinni what to do

the start of some zuchinni pineapple bread

this recipe of my moms makes a huge loaf and smaller loaves

I made the big one for hubs
the smaller ones went to two neighbors who helped price things for the yard sale

they got breakfast
I used up a zuchinni of the many that sis in law blessed me with

will have to shred the rest and freeze for later
when we want some yummy zuchinni pineapple bread
anyone want the recipe?

make money while the sun is shining

or something like that.
to make some money..............

you cant be sleeping............

hey guys..........I need some help here................

thanks Dunk! go back to sleep will ya?
I dont need your "help"

I have been busy

last night while I was chatting on the phone
my hands were doing this
knitting on huge needles
a scarf for the yard sale
in 2 different type blue yarns
that will get them out of the stash and make more room
also will keep someone nice and warm this winter

and I quilted up 4 mug rugs
some of the kitty ones
found some leftover batting
and some smaller fabric pieces for the backs
and bindings

played with some stitching
straight line

even more circles
4 more ready to bind and put in the yard sale box
maybe we can pair them with some glasses and make a set
we will see
what have YOU been up to?

the weather is a changing

the blooms of this lilly have faded

these petunias have all set out seeds

the roses blooms are sparse now

the garden is getting ready to sleep for the winter

clematis is going nuts though LOL
where is my white one? from my buddy JulieRose?

the butterfly bush has been chopped again

the Fall decor is starting to come out

the ground cover is mulching itself in
Yep, I think Fall is a coming soon...........
As long as Winter is not close behind I don't mind
I love the cool Fall nights
the hot apple cider and apple pies
the smells of pumpkin
and the warmth of a hoodie to cut the chill

ever see one of these

this looks easy peasy
looks like squares of a knit drapey fabric
stitched down the center
to make a scarf

I may have to check this out
the internet can be a "dangerous" place!

let me know if you have tried this and how you made out
inquiring minds have to know!

thought process

this was my inspiration for my relaxing robin last round.
I loved the way the simple squares "sparkled"

so I tried it
and I LOVED it
I think Phoebe did too! I had to move her off the quilt top

so I cut and sewed a bunch more
I need to get back in the sewing room
I miss my daily fabric sessions

and Dunkin has let me know that I can not slack
and substitute!
no siree bob
gotta make more little 9 patches and get busy
I want to have the top done before the snow flies
so I can hopefully get er done and use this winter
it will be a lap size
for ME
ok Duns and Phoebes   I will share with you
but not with Daddy.
dont tell him! LOL

remember this stuff?

free kittens

mug rugs

candlemats and table toppers

all packed and priced for the yardsale
getting there.........
still much to do

gotta find my denim and make a money apron
gotta label and pack chairs and tables
gotta finish off some crafts
gotta place an ad
gotta get volunteers to sign up and help

so much to do..........
so little time
