sorry for the horrible picture. I tried to get white in the background
low tech around here LOL
here is the start of a cow zip bag
I am grabbing and piecing anything that looks "country" to me
and "making a piece of fabric
then I will cut a front and back
and lining and wrist strap
and make a bag
ole Bessie is a cutie isnt she?
she is keeping me company early in the morning
as I sew for 30 min before work
very calming start to the day...........

saw some half square triangles at a friends house today
would love to make this out of some
maybe I need to make some leaders and enders.........
and I found these pics of snow. WOW.........funny how soon we forget
this was such a mess
this was the front tree
yeah. wanna see?
this tree right here. the snow was halfway up the trunk!
seems funny to think of snow but I guess it is because today is 90 and hot and humid here.
I love the seasons and the changes but man they are getting extreme!

I finished sewing up these Fall squares
and then went stash diving
to see what I had to border it
I at first thought orange
I have this watery printed one........
or this small floral one........but it didnt seem to
have oomph to me......
until I found this one.
brown to ground the colors
and leaves to boot!
and bonus! have enough for the back as well
maybe with one of the oranges for binding
so this will be done another day when I
have a good chunk of time
I had these cut out from old knit shirts that
didnt fit or I had too many of them
was thinking of my pay it forward
for this year like I did last year
and quickly sewed up 8 hats for babies
will make 8 little heads warm this Fall
maybe will try and pair them with some bibs or
we will see
and then to kill 10 minutes
(better than being on pinterest right? LOL)
I pulled some florals out of the squares
and I think another zippy bag
will be born soon
just need a strap
and a zipper to match
what are YOU sewing today?

I finished this just now
yep this morning...........
happy Friday! and in the box you go my pretty......
another view. I didn't box the bottom on this one. I wanted all the
squares to show
they look so pretty
I am happy with this little bag
thanks again Sharon for the squares
I should have showed the lining- a pretty darker blue
(need to get up to speed on my photography skills LOL)
and lookie here!
another 16 patch?
no.... I am thinking runner for Fall
I have enough to make a good size
and just need a beige or color for border
back and binding
Yep I MISSED my early morning sewing sessions
but looks like my machine did too
she is purring like a kitten..........
speaking of kittens........
no Dunkin, Mommy is NOT letting you in.
its Mommy time.........
he is so darned cute
but sometimes a little pest

early this morning I hear Dunkin crying
sounded like he was saying mom
so I investigated and this is what I found
him trying to get into my sewing room
so I walked past him, let him in for a bit until he caused trouble
then banned him again hee hee
and got these sewn up for a zippy bag in blues.
(thanks Sharon for the precut squares! love em!)
then I found more scraps that were lying in a basket and some cute cows
and the ideas kept ticking in my little brain
so I sewed some cows with fabrics
and will make some cow zippy bags too
How cute will they be out of little bits and pieces?
I <3 cows
even found a fabric for a wrist strap.........
I then found these charms and cut them in half (5 of them)
and resewed them into strips for another bag
will find some black or beige to go with it and that will
make a nice looking one
sewed up some color coordinated squares.
to go with my 16 patches I think
and another friend "gifted me" with her scraps
she said "I dont use these little bits"
what? there are nice hunks in here
to make something nice
look ! Fall colors and prints ! I feel a runner
coming on............ hee hee
and now I need a fancy drink with an umbrella
nope, cant do that......... hi ho hi ho
its off to work I go..........
(bet I got cha whistling didnt I ?)
have a great day friends!
these are the fun raffle baskets we had
throughout the night we called off numbers
from raffle tickets for the winners
we had six of them in all. (yes I know the gal that made the popcorn one
didnt take off the price- I heard it all night long) LOL
our crazy bingo caller.
he is a fun guy can you tell? and he is in his late 80s
a few of the guests having fun
the secretary, Treasurer (me) and the Pres
we are such a motley crew no? LOL
and with the V Pres this makes the whole committee
I think the party was a success
we played LCR and bingo and
the poker game once they got the hang of it went well too
we actually had one person with three kings and he won!
quite a few got pairs too
amazing with 5 different decks in different bowls
I even won like 4 dollars at LCR........whoot whoot!
and brought home some beans and cookies and fruit salad
hmmmmm lunch and dinner and dessert for today!
these were all the pics I got to take
was running around running the games and making
sure all were having a good time.
got lots of compliments so I think it went well.......

what do you do with your scraps?
I try and make something with them. most scraps
are never too small for me
here are some green and teal scraps I had lying around
and a teal zipper
zippy bag for the Christmas box!
well gift box. it has already been given away but thats ok
love playing with my scraps
here is a scrappy bib for my newest grandson Hunter
love those little doggies
I could not throw out that piece
glad I didnt!
some Fall scrap strings turned into another zip bag
and from a night sewing with my friend she was throwing away
the pink floral
it was just a little scrap about 6 inches
I tried to fussy cut the roses best I could
and paired with my green, brown and pink scraps and
a pink zipper
yep another zippy bag that I gave to my friend
she was surprised what I made with that scrap cast off!
Now she saves me odd bits and bobs
this is an ongoing scrappy that I started and need to
get back on track with
it will be for me
it is a round robin that stays at my house and is worked
on only by me.
I started with one dresdan
I love love love the outside border
and how the scrappy fabrics make it "sing"
I cant wait to finish this one
it will be lap size I am thinking maybe bordered in black
I wanted a quilt that didnt read blue and pink like the dresdan
I think I was successful
these little scraps were fun too.
You know Jenny?
from Missouri Star?
yeah, the enabler! THAT one LOL
she had a special on this little template
so I bought it
and then proceeded to cut up every little scrap in blue I could find
and sewed them together into a table centerpiece
love this one too
it will be quilted by hand when it is not so hot to have it on my lap
too hot now so this will hopefully be finished this Fall
and string scraps? oh yeah. they come home with me too
I made this one into a leaf shape potholder
love love love it!
and my friend Sharon of http://vroomansquilts.blogspot.com/
yeah she gifted me some of her scraps
she had already cut them too!
this is another scrappy start that I am enjoying working on
Dunkin seems to like it as well.
