an oldie but a goodie

I found this duck wandering in my stash
this was from quite a few years ago
and started as a baby quilt with ducks.
then became  a challenge
for the little quilt  group my sis and I used to have
on Tues nights we would meet for 2 hrs after work and
it was fun and something to look forward to
we all had a duck block to start out with
and then added fabric to the paper bag and
numbered the bags
the idea was when we exchanged it round robin style
you would not know whose it was
and at the end we all got our ducks back
well one gal lost the one she was working on
so that gal that owned it didnt want to
participate any more.
cant blame her
so that ended
this was my duck
someone added the flying geese
then a water blue row
and a darker blue row
to applique on

I added the piano key border to bring in more colors
and then about 7 yrs back I started adding details
and buttonhole stitched them on in black

at the time it sounded like a good idea

fast forward to now
I am thinking of attaching them by machine
in black thread
this duck is a quacking
and wanting me to finish him

Hmmm he needs a finish. That is a cool idea though with the round robin.
