selvages and parts

I thought this was a cute selvage

I will have to make something fun with it.........

anyone have cute selvage project ideas?

also as I clean up areas of my room
I am finding  "onesies" and not of the baby type
they are blocks for whatever reason I started to make
and the project never got off to a start and now
I am not interested
OR they are leftovers from a project
because  you know I cant count LOL

see the strawberry? that was a challenge block
my friend Jacky gave to me to cheer me up
during a tough time
see the basket type block with the dk blue triangle?
that was when I was in a guild and I was sick but
had my block all made so it stayed with me
the green block lower left is from my playing with squares
and that camo green color
I miscounted one extra

the coin rows were from 5 inch charms I no longer
loved. I cut them in half and sewed
one of those mindless sewing days

all kinds of "misfits" that for now I will
just pile into it own container
I think they need a little more color
(you can see my quilt assistant in the background
mulling over the situation)

for now they will stay together until I get a plan

maybe these would add some fun color to the mix?
we will see

just cleaning up and putting them in one spot
makes me feel a little closer to
making them into a quilt

I also found my red stripe fabric to bind my Christmas
table runner for ME

one similar to this but the triangles are all red and white

with a red border
and red and white candycane stripe binding.
so I cut out the binding this morning
hopefully tomorrow I can have it finished and put away
for this Christmas for my table.
that was another one on my goal list for 2017 so that will make 4 done
out of 12. not bad for 3 months into the year right?

what are you making?

Right now just sewing 2" squares into
4-sies...mindless sewing --I think of this as "cleaning up" of my leftover out drawers and general spring clean up around here. BUT, hear that we are due for 5" of snow on Friday!! ugh!!

Looks like you have a great start to an orphan block quilt one of these days. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

I actually made an entire quilt from my selvages. I didn't plan it, it just became addictive to keep making selvage blocks.
