gotta find this UFO

this UFO is going to be MINE
I just LOVE it
not sure the name of the pattern
a friend and I attended one of those
all day Sat classes at a local farm
and this was what we made
I did my own spin on the border to use up pieces I had
left from the cutting etc

funny my friend and I each had some of the same fabrics
as we traded strips to have enough variety
and they came out totally different

I was disappointed in the class
as the directions were given to us wrong to
precut to the wrong size
so when we got to class we had to recut
all the strips
I did the top up to a lap size instead of the bed size I was
going for

We cut out strips I think  4.5 or 4.25 wide
then sewed them to a 2.5 narrow white strip
those units were made into a unit of 3
meaning alternating the placement of the
small white (up,down,up) in the units
then we joined the units mixing up the colors
as best we could
to make the top
see my border units? those were leftover units before
being cut up and I mixed in leftover 3 pc units
to make the lengths I needed

I think it is called basket weave or something like that
was an easy quilt but some matching needs to
take place at seams

once the initial sewing was done
and subcutting
I just put all the pcs in a pile and picked up 3 and sewed
a fun way to spend a Sat

now she needs to be finished to warm this
old body in winter LOL
